Hi, I’m Rhea, founder, designer, and the creative force behind AAIZAA.
I’ve always felt like I wasn’t from this era. Anyone who knows me, or has spent even a little time with me, has said I’m an old soul. I love with everything I have, I live fullest in the small moments, and details excite me in ways trends never could. I’m drawn to art, to traditions, to ways of life that carry history in their every stitch and gesture. That pull toward the olden ways, the golden times, is at the heart of AAIZAA.
As a first-generation South Asian American, I grew up between worlds: the traditions my family carried across oceans, and the modern life I was building here. My family is full of artists, painters, writers, seamstresses, and creativity has always been part of my story. But when my parents immigrated, they couldn’t bring heirlooms or treasures to pass down. That absence stayed with me, and it sparked the idea for AAIZAA: to create ancestral and soul-made adornments, pieces that could be cherished now and passed down, carrying memory, heritage, and meaning.
The fashion world often watered down South Asian-inspired design to chase trends, losing the craftsmanship and longevity our traditions are built on. I wanted to change that. My work is not about following fleeting trends, it’s about designing pieces that are timeless, intentional, and full of soul. Each creation is made with care, meant to endure, and meant to hold meaning for generations.
AAIZAA is about more than adornments. It’s about connection: to our roots, to ourselves, and to those yet to come. Every design, from hand-finished garments to jewelry that feels like a keepsake, tells a story, a story of lineage, memory, and love. My hope is that the pieces you take home don’t just live in your closet; they live in your story, and in the stories of those who will come after you.
Welcome to AAIZAA: ancestral and soul-made stories.
